Mihai Netea, an immunologist at Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre in the Netherlands, realized that the Rroma, people in his hometown of Romania, had genes that allowed them to survive the Black Death. A popular historian and science writer, Kelly has written more than ten books on science and human behavior and is currently working on an account of the Irish potato famine of 1845-1852.Īdditionally, there has been research done on the effect the Black Death had on the human genome. Another notable author is John Kelly, author of The Great Mortality: An Intimate History of the Black Death, the Most Devastating Plague of All Time. He wrote countless historic biographies and books as well as various newspapers and journals, being the editor in chief at Collins from 1979-1980. Ziegler, born in 1929, was a British biographer and historian. An example is Philip Ziegler, author of The Black Death. There have been many important leaders and researchers in studying the Black Death.
